DRAW ME AFTER YOU

Song of Solomon 1:4: "Draw me after you; let us run. The king has brought me into his chambers. We will exult and rejoice in you; we will extol your love more than wine; rightly do they love you."

What does it mean?

This whole book is a love poem / song between a bride and her beloved king. It is a symbolic picture of God’s love for His people, and Christ’s love for the Church.

Here’s the breakdown line by line:

1."Draw me after you; let us run"

This is the bride speaking. She’s asking to be pulled by love, not by duty.

Spiritual picture: We can’t chase God in our own strength. We ask Him: “Lord, draw me” John 6:44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him”.

When He draws, we respond: “let us run”. Love makes us move fast, with joy, not dragging.

2."The king has brought me into his chambers"

The "chambers" = the most intimate, private place in the palace. No crowds, no servants. Just the king and the bride.

Spiritual picture: This is intimacy with God. Not just temple courts or outer worship, but the "secret place"

Ps 91:1. He invites us in. It’s about relationship, not religion.

In the Old Testament only the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies once a year. In Christ, we are brought into God’s very presence Heb 10:19-20.

3."We will exult and rejoice in you; we will extol your love more than wine"

Wine in the Bible represents joy, celebration, and gladness Ps 104:15.

The bride says: Your love makes me happier than any party, any pleasure.

It’s corporate too: “we will”. Love for God overflows and others join in worship.

2 layers of meaning

Literal	Spiritual / Christ & Church
A young woman longing for her king	The believer / Church longing for Jesus
She asks to be drawn into relationship	The Holy Spirit draws us to Christ
Brought into the king’s private room	Brought into God’s presence through the cross
Celebrating love greater than wine	Celebrating God’s love greater than any worldly joy

Big idea

This verse is about initiation and response.

God draws - The King takes the first step
We run- We respond with eagerness
He brings us in- Intimacy, not distance
We rejoice- Worship is the result

John 14:23 echoes this: “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”

It’s not about earning your way into the "chambers". The King brings you in. All you do is say: “Draw me”.

Let’s go deeper into those 2 points from “The king has brought me into his chambers” - Song 1:4

1.Going to the "Secret Most Holy Place"

In the Old Testament, there were 3 levels in the Tabernacle/Temple:

Outer Court	Holy Place	Most Holy Place / Holy of Holies
Everyone could come	Only priests daily	Only High Priest, once a year
Sacrifices, washing	Lampstand, bread, incense	Ark of the Covenant, God’s presence
Distance	Closer	Veil separated man from God

That "chamber" in Song 1:4 is like the Most Holy Place. It’s private, intimate, where the King Himself dwells.

What changed?

When Jesus died, Matt 27:51 “the curtain of the temple was torn in two”. That veil was the barrier.

Heb 10:19-20 “Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain”

So now:

You’re invited in- Not once a year. Anytime. “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace” Heb 4:16
It’s not about rituals - In the OT you needed bulls, goats, and a priest. Now you come with “the blood of Jesus” as your entry pass.
It’s secret - Matt 6:6“go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret”. This is where transformation happens. Not on stage, but in the chamber.

Just like the bride in Song of Solomon, God isn’t calling you to the courtyard to perform. He’s saying: “Come into My chambers. Let’s talk. Let Me love you.”

2.Love Relationship, Not Religion

Religion says: “Do this, don’t do that, and maybe God will accept you.”

Relationship says: “Draw me… The King brought me in.”

Look at the order in Song 1:4:

Draw me -God initiates. Jer 31:3 “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”
The king has brought me- He does the work. You don’t climb into the chamber.
We will rejoice- The result is joy, not burden.

Tiring, like running a race alone “Draw me, let US run” - He runs with you

Jesus condemned religion in Matt 23, but He invited relationship in John 15:15 “No longer do I call you servants... but I have called you friends”.

Wine vs Water analogy:

Religion is like drinking water to survive. Relationship is “your love is better than wine” - it intoxicates you with joy. Eph 5:18 “be filled with the Spirit” - same idea. God wants us drunk on His love, not dry on duty.

Putting both together

The "Most Holy Place" is not a place you reach by perfect behavior.

It’s a place you’re brought into by love.

Ps 27:4 “One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life”

That’s the bride’s heart. Not more programs. More Presence.

God’s question to us today is the same as the King’s to the bride:

“Will you let Me draw you? Will you come into the chambers with Me?”

VENEZUELA EARTHQUAKE DAMAGES ADD UP TO ALMOST $20 BILLION, WORLD BANK SAYS

Almost a month after the devastating earthquakes, Venezuela has a mammoth task ahead in terms of rebuilding, rehabilitating and mitigating the social and economic damage of the biggest natural disaster in decades.

The 24 June Venezuela earthquakes could have resulted in around $19.6 billion (€17.2bn) worth of direct physical damage, according to the World Bank Group.

This significant number underscores the country's need to invest in timely, resilient reconstruction for the economy to recover.

The findings were highlighted in a Global Rapid Damage Estimation (GRADE), carried out by the World Bank and published on Thursday.

The primary aim of the assessment is to provide the Venezuelan government and development partners with early insight into the scale of the rebuilding needed, and help outline the reconstruction and recovery efforts which need the most immediate attention to recover from the large-scale disaster.

"The earthquakes have disrupted lives, damaged critical infrastructure, and created new challenges for Venezuela's recovery," Susana Cordeiro Guerra, World Bank Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean, said in a press release.

"Recovering effectively begins with reliable evidence. This assessment gives the Government of Venezuela and its partners an early objective foundation for recovery planning, and the World Bank Group is committed to supporting that effort every step of the way," Guerra added.

Majority of damage to residential buildings

The GRADE assessment estimated that 47% of the total damage was to residential buildings, with infrastructure accounting for 27%. Non-residential buildings made up 26% of the total damage.

La Guaira state and Distrito Capital bore the brunt of the damage, accounting for approximately half of the total impact.

The World Bank Group also conducted additional analysis of the possible macro- and socio-economic implications of the earthquake, as well as what recovery could entail.

This data revealed that the pace of reconstruction will be of paramount importance in shaping how well the Venezuelan economy and society recovers.

Given the current state of public and private investment, most of the reconstruction funds would likely need to be diverted away from other less critical investment projects.

In this situation, reconstruction is expected to take over 10 years, with considerable negative effects on economic activity.

On the other hand, by prioritising rapid reconstruction and assigning higher public and private investment for this purpose, the economic and social impact of the earthquake could be greatly mitigated.

I HAVE INSCRIBED YOU ON THE PALMS OF MY HANDS

Isaiah 49:15-16 “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.”

This is God talking to Zion — Jerusalem — when she felt abandoned. It’s one of the most tender pictures of God’s love in the Old Testament.

1.What’s happening in Isaiah 49?

Context: Isaiah 40-66 is “the Book of Comfort.” Israel is in exile in Babylon, or about to be. Jerusalem is destroyed Isa 64:10-11. The people say: Isa 49:14 “But Zion said, ‘The LORD has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me.”

They felt like God walked out Lam 5:20. God answers in verses 15-16 with 2 pictures you can’t forget.

2.Breaking down Isaiah 49:15

“Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb?”

TORRENTIAL RAINS BRING DEVASTATING FLOODS TO A CHINESE CITY – AND A SNAKE INVASION

Hong Kong — It sounds like the script of a low-budget horror movie – a community besieged by hundreds of snakes. But in Hengzhou, a southern Chinese city of some one million residents, floodwaters have brought that terrifying reality to their doorsteps.

Around 900 snakes – many of them venomous – are on the loose after Typhoon Maysak swept through the region, causing flooding that has so far killed 39 people, according to state media.

One woman died after being bitten by a snake – possibly a cobra – suspected to have escaped one of the flooded reptile farms in the area, though state media reports at least several other people have been bitten.

Nightmarish videos posted by concerned residents have shown serpents paddling through the streets, their heads raised comfortably above the floodwaters like venomous periscopes.

Chinese authorities initially played down the threat but are now issuing warnings to villagers to stay clear of the slithery new arrivals, as they mobilize snake catchers, boost antivenom stocks and prepare hospital workers for a potential influx of snakebite cases.

Snakes are not the only animals on the loose. Two zebras, one humpback ox, three miniature horses and two donkeys – among others – also escaped when a zoo in the region flooded.

The privately owned Guigang Zoo issued an emergency notice on Wednesday night, warning members of the public that some of the escaped animals – including ostriches, emus and raccoons – could get aggressive when frightened, and begged for reports of animal sightings.

In an interview with local media Hongxing News, zoo owner Yin Feifei said staff risked their own lives to lock down the cages of the predators when the floodwaters rose. Three lions drowned.

“We could not allow predators to escape during the flood and create an additional public safety risk,” he said.

Over 16,000 pigs have also been washed away by the flood, according to Chinese local media Shangyou News. Heavy machinery was used to pick up pigs from the floodwater like an arcade claw machine, as seen in video posted online.

Region famous for jasmine – and snakes

Hengzhou sits in the southeast of the Guangxi region, on a relatively flat central plain surrounded by mountains and over 660 rivers.

The city is best known for being China’s “jasmine capital.” It’s where the fragrant flower – used to make tea – has been grown for 500 years.

But it’s not just tea the region is famous for. In recent decades, Hengzhou, along with the entire Guangxi region, has been a hub for breeding snakes.

Over 100 snake species have been recorded in the region, which borders Vietnam and has a diverse mix of minority groups. Local people regard snake meat as a nourishing meal and there’s a long tradition of catching snakes for food.

By 2020, Guangxi was home to almost 20 million snakes, with more than 14,000 breeding farms, according to a report from Guangxi Daily, a media outlet affiliated with the Guangxi government.

Nowadays, most people breed snakes for pharmaceutical and biomedical applications.

The snakes most commonly bred in the area are cobras and common rat snakes. While common rat snakes are non-venomous, a cobra bite can be deadly.

But what has been an important industry for Hengzhou now presents a critical problem for local authorities.

Mr Zhu, a member of a civilian snake-catching team in Hengzhou, told state-owned Beijing News that the team of seven or eight people had been working continuously for two days, capturing a total of 2,000-3,000 of the animals – a figure that would be even higher than earlier estimates of those escaped – mainly rat snakes.

Zhu explained that following floods, snakes often seek refuge in concealed spots such as the corners of houses. Villagers would notify the team upon spotting them, and the captured snakes would be handed over to professionals for release back into the wild.

“We caught two or three thousand in two days – we’ve basically cleared them all out,” he told Beijing News.

Video posted by state media shows a man chasing after a snake swimming in floodwaters as others stand by, ready to pounce with nets. Ultimately, a man in a bright pink raincoat attempts to dive on the snake before it’s snatched from the water by another man.

People are heard screaming and laughing with excitement as they try to catch the reptile, according to the footage. However, authorities warn a snake bite can be fatal.

Villagers told Beijing News that they couldn’t find help for the woman who was bitten until it was too late – the flooding had cut off roads, making it difficult to get anywhere quickly as the venom took hold.

“We sought help but it was too late,” one villager told state media.

The local government issued guidelines to residents on Wednesday, suggesting people avoid nighttime outdoor activities, stay away from the grass and ponds where snakes are likely to appear as they seek food and shelter from the floodwater.

“Most snakes prefer cool, damp environments and generally do not attack humans unprovoked,” said a report published by state news agency Xinhua.

“Snakes are also repelled by substances with pungent odors; snake-repellent powder can be sprinkled at home entrances to keep them away.

“When outdoors, one should try to avoid areas where snakes are known to be present or use a stick to beat the undergrowth to drive away any nearby snakes,” the report added.

Local hospitals said they had sufficient antivenom serum stocks to handle the crisis, according to Xinhua – as long as snake bite victims receive it in time.

As the waters recede, it’s unclear how long the hundreds of snakes will pose a threat – and if enough will be caught in the meantime to reduce the risk.

HE WILL MAKE MY FEET LIKE DEER’S FEET

“The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.Habakkuk 3:19

1.What’s happening in Habakkuk 3?

Context: Habakkuk is a prophet around 600 BC. Judah is corrupt Hab 1:2-4, and Babylon is about to invade Judah Hab 1:6. Habakkuk argues with God: “Why do You use a wicked nation to judge us?” Hab 1:13. God answers: “The just shall live by his faith” Hab 2:4. Babylon will be judged too. Hab 2:6-20, but Judah must trust God through the coming disaster.

Habakkuk 3 is Habakkuk’s prayer/song. He remembers God’s power in history Hab 3:2-15 — Exodus, Sinai, conquest. Then he trembles at the upcoming judgment Hab 3:16 “my body trembled; my lips quivered.”

But he ends with faith. Hab 3:17-18 “Though the fig tree may not blossom… yet I will rejoice in the LORD.” Verse 19 is the reason why he can rejoice when everything fails.

2.Breaking down Habakkuk 3:19

“The LORD God is my strength”

LORD God — Hebrew YHWH Adonai = “Yahweh my Master.” Personal name + Sovereign title. Not “a god.” The God.

Is my strength — Hebrew cheyli = my power, might, wealth, army. Ps 18:1-2 David says the same: “I will love You, O LORD, my strength.”

Point: Habakkuk’s circumstances are weak Hab 3:17 “no herd in the stalls.” But his God is not absent Isa 40:29 “He gives power to the weak.” When you have nothing left, God is your something

They don’t slip Ps 121:3. Fast — 2 Sam 22:34 “He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places.” Same phrase David used after being delivered from Saul. Graceful under pressure — Deer don’t panic on heights. They’re built for it.

Point: God doesn’t just remove the mountains. He gives you feet to climate up the mountain Isa 40:31 “they shall mount up with wings like eagles.” The trial stays. You change Phil 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

“And He will make me walk on my high hills”

High hills — Hebrew bamothai = my heights, my elevated places. Two meanings: Literal danger — Judah’s hills would be invaded by Babylon Hab 1:6. High places = battle ground, exposed, scary Hab 3:16. Yet God says “you’ll walk there,” not hide.

Spiritual victory — High places = places of worship Deut 32:13, places of perspective Isa 33:16, places of authority Deut 33:29. He will make me walk — God enables it. You don’t climb in your strength Zech 4:6 “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit."

Point: The same mountains you dread become your testimony ground Gen 22:14 “On the mountain of the LORD it shall be provided.” God turns your battlefield into a vantage point Ps 23:5 “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”

Admit weakness — “The LORD God is my strength” starts with “I have none” John 15:5. Ask for deer’s feet — Ps 18:33 is a prayer. “God, make me stable where I’m slipping.”

Jude 1:24 “Him who is able to keep you from stumbling.” Face your high hills — Don’t avoid the hard place. God will make you walk, not fly away John 17:15. Your “high hills” might be: chemo, bankruptcy, prodigal child, depression,etc.

Bottom line: Habakkuk 3:19 is faith with hiking boots on. Everything in Hab 3:17 can fail — crops, livestock, economy — and still the prophet says: “My God is my strength. He’ll give me agility to climate this cliff. He’ll make this dangerous place my platform.”

2 Cor 4:8-9 — “We are hard-pressed… perplexed… persecuted… struck down, but not destroyed.” Why? Because “The LORD God is my strength.

"What are your “high hills” right now?

The verse promises: you won’t just survive them. He’ll make you walk on them — steadily, gracefully, like a deer. Isa 52:7 “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings great news.

PEAK HEAT IN EUROPE JUST BROKE HISTORIC 1970's RECORDS

“In the 50 years since the historic heatwave in 1976, Europe as a whole has warmed by around two degrees. It’s the fastest warming continent, and extremes of temperature have increased too.”

The heat spikes are being driven by the highest sea surface temperatures on record for June, according to the monthly update from the continent’s Copernicus Climate Change Service.

Globally, the monthly average sea-surface temperature for the extra-polar ocean (60°S-60°N) was the highest for June, exceeding the previous record set in June 2024 by just 0.01ºC, partly reflecting the development of strong El Niño conditions in the equatorial Pacific, according to the service.

Death, drought and fires

The record-breaking heatwave has contributed to severe health impacts, including heat-related deaths.

Europe also saw widespread dryness that, together with extreme heat, contributed to wildfire activity and heightened drought risk in parts of eastern Europe.

The heat in parts of Western Europe is continuing in July, accompanied by localised violent storms and in some areas by worsening drought and the risk of wildfires, including in France and the Iberian Peninsula, according to WMO.

‘Silent killer’

Heat stress occurs when the body gains more heat than it can release, and extreme heat is often called the “silent killer”, remaining under-reported in many countries.

More than 200,000 heat-related deaths occurred in Europe over the past four years, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Globally, WMO estimates there were approximately 489,000 heat-related deaths annually between 2000 and 2019.

Lachlan McIver, a health adviser at the WHO-WMO Climate and Health Joint Office, said most at risk are older adults, young children, pregnant women, outdoor workers and people unhoused or living with chronic illness, but heat stress can affect anyone when temperatures are extreme enough for long enough.

More ‘tropical’ nights

It’s not just daytime temperatures, but also overnight minimum temperatures.

A “tropical night”, a term widely adopted in some regions such as Europe and parts of Asia, occurs when the temperature does not drop below 20°C. During heatwaves, these become increasingly common, particularly in cities.

“When assessing the health impact of a heatwave, minimum temperatures can be more telling than the peak afternoon high,” said Armel Castellan, an extreme heat services technical advisor at the WMO-WHO Climate and Health Joint Office.

“A day that reaches 38°C but drops to 18°C overnight is very different from a day that reaches 36°C and stays above 25°C through the night. The second scenario carries a much higher health risk.”

Heat actions plans

WMO is one of 10 specialised UN entities supporting the Secretary-General’s Call to Action on Extreme Heat, an initiative that seeks to strengthen international cooperation and reduce heat impacts through improved science, early warning systems, public awareness and coordinated action.

The UN weather agency, its members and partners are mobilising with early warnings and coordinated action plans to try to save lives and inform decision making on how to minimise economic and ecosystem damage and disruption to infrastructure and labour productivity.

In a bid to help nations and communities cope with extreme temperatures, the UN health and weather agencies this week launched updated heat-health action guidance.

ALLIANCE

“Jehoshaphat had riches and honor in abundance; and by marriage he allied himself with Ahab.”

2 Chronicles 18:1

Let us meditate on this.

Who’s Jehoshaphat? Jehoshaphat was king of Judah, son of Asa. He started well.

2 Chro 17:3-6 - “The Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the former ways of his father David... his heart took delight in the ways of the Lord.”

He removed idols, sent teachers through Judah 2 Chro 17:7-9, and God blessed him.

2 Chron 17:5 — “Therefore the Lord established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah gave presents to Jehoshaphat, and he had riches and honor in abundance.”

That’s the first half of 2 Chro 18:1. It’s restating 17:5. But then comes the turn. Breaking down 2 Chro 18:11. “Jehoshaphat had riches and honor in abundance”

This was God’s blessing for obedience.

2 Chron 17:12 — “So Jehoshaphat became increasingly powerful, and he built in Judah fortresses and storage cities.”

Proverbs 22:4 — “By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life.”

Jehoshaphat was in a good spot spiritually and politically. Judah was strong. Philistines and Arabs brought tribute 2 Chro 17:11.2.

“And by marriage he allied himself with Ahab”. This is the problem. Ahab was king of Israel, the northern kingdom.

1 Kings 16:30-33 — “Ahab... did evil in the sight of the Lord, more than all who were before him... he took as wife Jezebel... and he went and served Baal and worshiped him.”

Ahab was arguably Israel’s most wicked king. Jehoshaphat’s son Jehoram married Ahab’s daughter Athaliah 2 Chro 21:6.

So “allied himself” = family covenant. In ancient times, royal marriages = political alliances. But God had warned against this.

Deuteronomy 7:3-4 — “Nor shall you make marriages with them... For they will turn your sons away from following Me, to serve other gods.”

2 Corinthians 6:14 — “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers.”

Same principle. Why this verse matters.

2 Chro 18:1 is the setup for a bad chapter in Jehoshaphat’s life. It’s the hinge.

What happened next: 2 Chro 18:2-3 — Jehoshaphat goes to visit Ahab in Samaria. Ahab persuades him to join in battle against Ramoth Gilead.

2 Chro 18:4-27 — They consult prophets. Ahab’s 400 prophets say “go.” Micaiah, the true prophet, says Ahab will die.

2 Chro 18:28-34 — Jehoshaphat nearly dies in battle wearing royal robes while Ahab disguises himself. Ahab is killed anyway, just as Micaiah said.

2 Chro 19:1-3 — When Jehoshaphat gets home, the prophet Jehu rebukes him: “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Therefore, the wrath of the Lord is upon you.”

***The lesson*: Good start and safe finish.**

Warning: Blessing can lead to compromise.

Jehoshaphat had “riches and honor in abundance.” But success made him drop his guard. He thought he could handle an alliance with Ahab.

Proverbs 30:8-9 — “Give me neither poverty nor riches... Lest I be full and deny You.” Unequal alliances have consequences.

This marriage brought Baal worship into Judah through Athaliah. 2 Chron 21:6 — Jehoram “walked in the way of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done, for he had the daughter of Ahab as a wife.”

2 Chro 22:3-4 — Their son Ahaziah also “walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother advised him to do wickedly.”

One marriage corrupted two generations of kings. Athaliah later seized the throne and killed all the royal heirs.

2 Chro 22:10 God still shows mercy. Even after the rebuke, Jehoshaphat repented and went back to reforming Judah. 2 Chro 19:4-11.

2 Chro 20:3 — When Moab and Ammon invaded later, “Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord.” God delivered him without Judah fighting 2 Chro 20:22-24.

God didn’t cancel Jehoshaphat for the mistake, but He disciplined and warned him.

New Testament parallel

James 4:4 — “Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”

Jehoshaphat’s alliance with Ahab = “friendship with the world.”

He meant well — maybe he hoped to reunite Israel and Judah — but he aligned with someone whom God had judged.

Bottom line: 2 Chro 18:1 shows how a godly man with God’s blessing made a political decision that looked smart but was spiritually dangerous.

“By marriage he allied himself with Ahab” — 7 words that caused decades of trouble in Judah.

It’s a warning: past obedience doesn’t guarantee future discernment.

1 Corinthians 10:12 — “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.”

THE ‘EARTHQUAKE GATE’ STOPPING A SAN ANDREAS DISASTER IS UNDER ITS HIGHEST STRESS IN 1,000 YEARS

It’s like a scene from a Hollywood movie: A major earthquake along the San Andreas fault ripples through Los Angeles, decimating infrastructure, sparking fires and triggering landslides. For decades, scientists have been investigating when and how this disaster could unfold.

Now, researchers report that such a quake could be more widespread and damaging than previously thought. Their study found that southern portions of the San Andreas fault and parts of the adjacent San Jacinto fault line are locked and loaded to their highest stress levels in 1,000 years — increasing the probability of a significant earthquake. If a strong earthquake hits either fault zone, the researchers say the seismic rumbles could cascade into its neighbor through an “earthquake gate” and spread damage from north of Los Angeles through San Bernardino, Riverside and the Coachella Valley simultaneously.

“We talk loosely about faults being ‘overdue,’ but it’s important to see a physics-based estimate that the system is sitting at a 1,000-year high,” said Matthew Weingarten, a geologist at San Diego State University who was not involved in the study.

Earthquakes happen when a sudden slip along a fault — a fracture in Earth’s crust where rock masses move against one another — releases energy built up over time. Stress accumulates as tectonic forces move the crust, but parts of the fault are locked and unable to slip freely.

Less than 60 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles, stress has been accumulating for more than a century along the southern San Andreas and San Jacinto fault systems. Both fractures make up the boundary of the Pacific and North American tectonic plates, which have been sliding past each other a few centimeters each year while other zones are locked. As a result, some segments of the faults have been building up tension like a coiled spring with nowhere to move.

In fact, the chances are more than 50 percent that an earthquake of 6.7-magnitude or higher occurs along the southern stretch of the San Andreas fault in upcoming decades, previous analysis showed.

But the San Andreas and San Jacinto fault systems also meet at a junction called the Cajon Pass, which the researchers say acts as an “earthquake gate.” The gate can either stop or transmit large ruptures between the two faults. In 1812, the 7.5-magnitude Wrightwood earthquake, which the researchers suspect crossed the Cajon Pass, rippled along both the San Andreas and San Jacinto fault systems and caused 40 deaths.

Today, if an earthquake were to travel through the Cajon Pass and along both faults, scientists say the consequences would be severe and widespread, affecting critical infrastructure such as major highways, railways and energy corridors over several cities simultaneously.

“In terms of severity, a joint rupture crossing Cajon Pass could approach around a magnitude 7.4 to 7.8 and affect a far larger area than a single-fault event,” said Liliane Burkhard, the study’s lead author and geophysicist at the University of Bern, Switzerland.

To determine what causes an earthquake to travel through the Cajon Pass, the team reconstructed the last 1,000 years of seismic activity along the two faults, tracking how stress accumulated and released. They found that earthquakes passed through the junction when both sides of the pass had similar levels of high stress – and “that is the configuration we are approaching today,” Burkhard said.

According to the simulation, the San Jacinto Bernardino segment stood out with the highest stress load anywhere in the 1,000-year reconstruction – registering 3.6 megapascals. That reading exceeds its previous peak from nearly 50 years ago. The Mojave South segment of the San Andreas recorded 2.8 megapascals and surpassed its own record stress load from a decade ago.

Past simulations showed ruptures traveled through Cajon Pass when the stress difference between the two segments was only 0.3 megapascals. Currently, the gap is measuring 0.8 megapascals, said Burkhard, who conducted much of this research at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

“The insight isn’t that stress builds over time, which we’ve long known,” said Weingarten, whose research group models earthquake stress and triggering on the San Andreas Fault, “but that the balance of stress across the junction may decide whether the next earthquake stays contained or grows into a much bigger rupture.”

The underlying message of the new research is not to panic but act with urgency, Burkhard said. City managers and emergency responders should plan for joint ruptures along the San Andreas and San Jacinto faults as a realistic possibility with the current stress conditions, not a remote worst-case scenario.

“Southern California faces a significant and growing seismic risk, and the time to prepare is now and not after the next earthquake,” she said.

‘SHOULD YOU HELP THE WICKED AND LOVE THOSE WHO HATE THE LORD?

2 Chron 19:1-3 “Then Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned safely to his house in Jerusalem. And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to King Jehoshaphat, ‘Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Therefore the wrath of the Lord is upon you. Nevertheless good things are found in you, in that you have removed the wooden images from the land, and have prepared your heart to seek God.’”

This verse speaks about how Jehoshaphat recovered after allying with Ahab

1.HE FACED A DIRECT REBUKE, AND ACCEPTED IT.

Key points:

a.Jehu didn’t mince words:“Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord?” That’s the issue.

b.God hates unequal alliances

2 Cor 6:14-17. “Wrath is upon you”: God was displeased. Jehoshaphat nearly died in battle 2 Chron 18:31. That was mercy — God spared him when he cried out.

c.“Nevertheless good things are found in you”: God doesn’t cancel Jehoshaphat. He acknowledges the good 2 Chron 17:3-6. Discipline, not rejection Hebrews 12:6.

d.The charge: “You have prepared your heart to seek God.” That’s what saved him. 2 Chron 12:14 says of Rehoboam: “he did evil, because he did not prepare his heart to seek the Lord.” Jehoshaphat did.

2.HE TURNED AROUND AND LED JUDAH BACK TO GOD

2 Chron 19:4 “So Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem; and he went out again among the people from Beersheba to the mountains of Ephraim, and brought them back to the Lord God of their fathers.

THIS IS REPENTANCE IN ACTION:

a.He stayed home first: “dwelt at Jerusalem.” No more running to Samaria to visit Ahab’s house. He broke the alliance.

b.He went out personally: “from Beersheba to the mountains of Ephraim” — that’s all of Judah, south to north. The king himself did pastoral work.

c.“Brought them back to the Lord”: Hebrew shub — same word from Jer 5:3. He led national repentance. 2 Chron 15:2“The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you.”

3.HE REFORMED THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM TO REFLECT GOD’S CHARACTER — 2 CHRON 19:5-11

This is the bulk of the chapter. Jehoshaphat sets up courts and gives them a charge.

Local judges in every city — v5-7 “Then he set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city, and said to the judges, ‘Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment. Now therefore, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes.

a.Accountability: “You do not judge for man but for the Lord.” Deut 1:17 — Moses said the same.

b.God’s character as standard: “No iniquity... no partiality... no bribes.” Deut 10:17-18 describes God this way. Judges represent Him.

c.“Fear of the Lord”: Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” That’s the foundation for justice.

High court in Jerusalem — v8-11 “Moreover in Jerusalem, for the judgment of the Lord and for controversies, Jehoshaphat appointed some of the Levites and priests, and some of the chief fathers of Israel... And he commanded them, saying, ‘Thus you shall act in the fear of the Lord, faithfully and with a loyal heart... And so you shall do, and you will not be guilty.

Levites and priests: They knew God’s law Deut 17:8-11. This was a “supreme court” for hard cases.2 Chr 19:11

**Religious + civil law, but both under “the fear of the Lord.”**

Warning + encouragement: “Deal courageously, and the Lord shall be with the good.”

v11. Joshua 1:9 - same promise.

4.WHAT CHANGED AFTER CHAPTER 2 CHRO 19?

Jehoshaphat’s reforms bore fruit immediately in 2 Chronicles 20:

2 Chron 20:3 — When Moab, Ammon, and others invaded, “Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.” No running to Ahab. He runs to God.

2 Chron 20:15 — God answers: “Do not be afraid nor dismayed... for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

2 Chron 20:21-22 — He puts singers in front again — like David in 1 Chron 16:42 — “when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes.” Judah didn’t fight. God won.

2 Chron 20:30 — “Then the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.” 1 Chron 17:9 — the promise fulfilled.

Let us learn from Jehoshaphat’s recovery

1.RECEIVE CORRECTION — He didn’t argue with Jehu. Proverbs 15:31-32 “The ear that hears the rebukes of life will abide among the wise.”

2.REPENTANCE MEANS ACTION — He went out and brought people back. Luke 3:8 “Bear fruits worthy of repentance.”

3.INSTITUTIONAL REFORM FOLLOWS PERSONAL REPENTANCE — He fixed the courts so injustice wouldn’t keep pulling Judah into sin. Exodus 23:6-8.

4.GOD RESTORES — Failure in ch. 18 didn’t disqualify him. 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us.”By ch. 20 he’s leading worship again.

One caution: Jehoshaphat later made another alliance with Ahaziah, Ahab’s son, to build trade ships 2 Chron 20:35-37. Eliezer prophesied against it and the ships were wrecked. Even good men can repeat mistakes 1 Cor 10:12. But overall, his heart stayed true 2 Chron 20:32-33.

Bottom line: Chapter 19 shows the pattern of biblical restoration

REBUKE → REPENTANCE → REFORM → RENEWED BLESSING.

Jehoshaphat owned his sin from 18:1, turned Judah back to God, and established justice. God answered with peace 2 Chron 20:30.

When God's people returned from exile, they went about the task of building houses for their families. Sounds like a reasonable decision, doesn't it? Well, it didn't make sense to God.

The Lord wasn't pleased that his people focused so quickly on building their own houses. "I called forth a drought on the fields... and on the labour of your hands," God told them.

As long as God's house-the temple in Jerusalem-stood in ruins, the work of his people would never prosper.

It's often the good things in life-building a house, working with the PTA, pursuing a hobby-that distract our focus from the Kingdom of God. Everyday life is a challenge. We're behind at work, the drain in the kitchen is leaking, and relatives are coming for the holidays. Certainly, there's a place for all of these things in our lives. But the key is knowing where that place is.

Once God's people set to work rebuilding the temple, the Lord honored their obedience in two ways. First, he encouraged them with his presence (2:5). Second, he blessed them (2:19).

When our marriages/ work place/ finances/ relationships hit a dry period, it could be that we've lost sight of God's legitimate claim to be first in our lives. It's a question we need to keep asking ourselves-and each other.

KERALA SHIGELLOSIS OUTBREAK TOPS 100 CASES IN JUNE

In a follow-up on the shigellosis outbreak afflicting Kerala state, India, on Thursday, the state health department confirmed 19 fresh cases of Shigella, pushing the total number of infections recorded this June alone to 110

In a statement, Kerala Health Minister K Muraleedharan said the fresh cases included nine from Kozhikode, three from Thrissur, two each from Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur, and one each from Kollam, Ernakulam and Malappuram.

This brings the total cases in the state since the beginning of the year to 189.

Amid a rise in shigellosis and other diarrheal diseases during the monsoon season, the Health Department has launched a statewide campaign against diarrheal diseases from June 16 to July 31, the minister said.

The campaign, being conducted in coordination with various government departments, aims to strengthen awareness and preventive measures under the slogan “Prevent diarrheal diseases, save lives.” According to the department, the campaign will focus on disinfecting drinking water sources, monitoring water quality, promoting scientific waste management, encouraging hand hygiene, and ensuring the availability of ORS and zinc at health centers.

The campaign will also stress personal hygiene, handwashing practices, sanitation measures while handling infants, and awareness about the preparation and importance of ORS, the statement said.

Shigellosis is an intestinal illness caused by a group of bacteria called Shigella. Common symptoms include diarrhea (sometimes bloody), abdominal cramps, nausea, and fever. Symptoms usually begin within two days after exposure to Shigella and typically last for five to seven days. Many people may have mild disease that gets better without medical treatment and will recover fully. However, some people, especially young children, older adults, and persons with weakened immune systems, may have severe disease that requires hospitalization. A
small number of people can develop complications such as bloodstream infections, seizures, kidney failure or arthritis.

Shigella is very infectious and spreads easily. An infected person sheds Shigella bacteria in their stool while they are sick and often for more than a week afterwards. Not washing your hands well after using the toilet can spread the bacteria. Shigella spreads from exposure to feces of an infected person, which can occur during sexual contact. It also spreads by eating foods or liquids contaminated with feces from an infected person or swallowing untreated recreational water (such as lakes or water park play fountains) contaminated with Shigella.

FLEE AWAY

Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20

1.CONTEXT: WHY PAUL WROTE THIS

Corinth in 55 AD was basically ancient Las Vegas. The temple of Aphrodite had 1,000 temple prostitutes. “To Corinthian” meant to visit prostitutes.

The Corinthian church problem: Some believers were saying “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food… and the body for sex” 1 Cor 6:13. They thought the body didn’t matter spiritually. Gnosticism taught “matter is evil, spirit is good, so what you do with your body is irrelevant.”

Paul spends 1 Cor 6:12-20 destroying that idea. 1 Cor 6:15 “Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not!”

2.VERSE-BY-VERSE BREAKUP

v18 “Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.”

“Flee sexual immorality” — Greek pheugete porneian = run away, present tense = keep fleeing. Sexual immorality — Greek porneia = any sexual activity outside marriage between one man and one-woman Matt 19:4-6. Includes adultery, fornication, porn, homosexuality Lev 18, 1 Cor 6:9-10.

Point: Don’t fight it face-to-face. Joseph ran Gen 39:12. 2 Tim 2:22

“FLEE YOUTHFUL LUSTS.”

YOU CAN’T “RESIST” SOME TEMPTATIONS

-you spirit Prov 5:8 “Remove your way far from her.” “Every sin… outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body”

This puzzled people. Is Paul saying gluttony/drunkenness don’t affect the body? No. What he means: Other sins use the body as an instrument, but sexual sin uniquely joins your body to another person

1 Cor 6:16 “he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her.” Sex creates a “one flesh” union Gen 2:24 designed for marriage. Outside marriage, it fractures you.

PHYSICAL REALITY: STDs, unplanned pregnancy, trauma.

SPIRITUAL REALITY: Soul ties, guilt, desecration of what God made holy 1 Thess 4:3-5. You sin “against” your own body because you violate its God-given purpose.

v19 “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?”

“your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit” — Greek naos = inner sanctuary, Holy of Holies. Not hieron = whole temple complex.

OLD TESTAMENT BACKGROUND: God’s presence dwelt in the tabernacle/temple Ex 40:34, 1 Kings 8:10-11. It was holy, set apart. Defile it = death Lev 15:31.

NEW TESTAMENT SHOCK: 1 Cor 3:16 “you are the temple of God.” Now God lives in you Eph 2:22. Your body is where He dwells John 14:17. “whom you have from God” — The Spirit is a gift Acts 2:38, not earned Gal 3:2. “and you are not your own” — This wrecked Corinthian thinking. Greeks loved autonomy: “my body, my choice.”

PAUL: “No. You’re bought property.” Rom 14:8 “whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.”v20 “For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

“bought at a price” — Greek ēgorasthēte timēs = purchased in the marketplace. Slavery language.

Point: The cross was a transaction Mark 10:45 “a ransom for many.” 1 Cor 7:23 “You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.” You changed owners — from sin Rom 6:17 to Christ Rom 6:22.“therefore glorify God in your body” — Since He owns it, use it to show He’s worthy.

GLORIFY = MAKE HEAVY, WEIGHTY, VISIBLE.

Matt 5:16 “let your light so shine… that they may see your good works and glorify your Father.” “and in your spirit, which are God’s” — Some manuscripts omit “and in your spirit” but the point stands: Gnostics split body/spirit. Paul says “God owns both”

1 Thess 5:23 “spirit, soul, and body.”

3.3 BIG TRUTHS IN THESE 3 VERSES

You have a new Owner“	bought at a price… not your own” v19-20	Rom 12:1 “present your bodies a living sacrifice.”

Autonomy died at the cross Gal 2:20.4. How this applies vs. 1 John 2:16 & Deut 22:15

vs 1 John 2:16: “Lust of the flesh” 1 John 2:16 is exactly what 1 Cor 6:18 says to flee. Same battle, different angle.

**John = “why” the world drives it.**

**Paul = “what” it does to you.**

vs Deut 22:15: OT law used fathers to guard daughters Deut 22:15. NT reality: You guard your own body because God lives there 1 Cor 6:19. 1 Thess 4:4 “each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification.”

Responsibility shifted from father to Spirit-filled believer.

4.LIVING 1 COR 6:18-20 TODAY

Flee, don’t flirt — Prov 7:6-27 The young man “passed near her corner.” Don’t. Matt 5:29 “If your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out.” Install covenant eyes, cancel the date, delete the app.

Remember who lives in you — 1 Cor 3:17 “If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him.” Before you click: “Holy Spirit, You live here. Is this worship?” Eph 4:30 “do not grieve the Holy Spirit.”

Live like bought property — Titus 2:14 “who gave Himself for us… to purify for Himself His own special people.” Ask: “Does this use of my body glorify the One who bought me?” 1 Cor 10:31.

Grace for failure — 1 Cor 6:11 “And such were some of you. But you were washed.” If you’ve sinned sexually: 1 John 1:9 “He is faithful to forgive.” The temple can be cleansed 2 Chr 29:16. Ps 51:7 “Purge me… and I shall be clean.”

Bottom line: Your body isn’t yours. It’s God’s house, bought with Jesus’ blood. So, when porneia (any sexual activity outside marriage) knocks, don’t negotiate. Run. Because 1 Cor 6:20 “you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body.”

DANIEL TROOP CHURCH was conducted from 29^th January to 10^th February 2026 by Sol. Manju. Nearly 14 to 15 members participated.

Testimonies

→Reena saw Jesus in white clothes.

→Pooja and her husband were extremely tense as there was a case going on in the court against them. Sol. Manju asked her to confess and repent for their sins. They confessed their sins, and the case was dismissed the very day after she prayed for them. All glory to God!

→All the soldiers felt the presence of God during the anointing prayer.

ANNAL TROOP CHURCH was conducted in veeranathur, Sholinghur on 30^th May 2026.Troop church was started as a follow-up of Sholingur TWM. Three instant healings took place in the troop church.

→Prayed for an aged person-chest pain and leg pain.

→Sister Sugapriya delivered from severe breathing problem and got delivered from black spirit.

→One old lady got delivered from her abdomen pain.

We preached about healing and deliverance in the troop church and got predominant deliverance in the name of Jesus Christ.

In 2025 , CRFC was conducted for the 1^st time in West Bengal ,many constituencies of West Bengal were inherited .Before elections we prayed for a government in accordance with God’s will . When BJP came into power , it was amazing.How God changed the government even though the TMC (ruling party) government was confident of win.The new government has come with policies to strengthen the Borders- zero tolerance, illegal immigration , anti corruption , end syndicate activities and to increase job opportunities.Out of 15 promises 7 has been fulfilled.All glory to God!

We praise and thank the Lord for giving us an opportunity to gather as Family in Christ at HIS REST Campus, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. This was a family retreat event where AOJ SOLDIERS of Tamil Nadu participated for the FAMILY RETREAT held on between 15^th to 17^th May 2026. Around 121 participants were gathered for the family Retreat. Main focus was based on the “HOLINESS IN MARRIAGE”. We started preliminary preparation in the month of February by Praying in a small group. Later we started to discuss a few topics in NAZARETH SCHOOL OF FAMILY BUILDING level-1 with the Organizing team. God spoke through the group and many queries and situations which is not overcome in family were discussed, which we face day today in life. Some were hard to accept, some were very essential to get corrected, some which can be implemented by practice in our life. This will help our families to remain in holiness and to raise a HOLY GENERATION. We had a Family Fellowship meeting with families from Tamil Nadu on 11th April 2026.3 main topics were discussed through panel discussion to be implemented in family life. The day was a blessing and GOD prepared many soldiers for the level-2. Following that we formed a group of soldiers who attended the meeting and followed them by assigning daily task. The retreat was a residential programme.

DAY -1

The day started with opening prayer by Mother LEEMA ROSE followed pledge by Sol. Caroline. We had worship with families; we represented the families before the Lord. Introduction about HIS IMAGE was given by Sis Angelica. The first class was taken by Mother Leema Rose on “GODHOOD AND DOMINION”, God’s visualization of Man, likeness of God, Gods investigation and Judgment, family Response, Essence of Judgment, reward of learning obedience, overcomers, and greater calling for man. Were the key topics covered in this class. Second class on the same day was taken by Sol. Dr. Sujatha on DIVORCE IN GOD’S PERSPECTIVE, 3 ways divorce causes adultery, marrying a divorcee is adultery, 7 consequences of divorce, Godly separation were the main topics which were deeply discussed in this class. Followed by practical sessions on divorce in God’s perspective, case study and the outcomes and how to overcome divorce in future was given by Sol. Reagan and a few soldiers. Third Class in the afternoon session was about SEXUAL ETHICS was conducted separately for Men and Women by Sol. Dr. Albert for Men and Sol. Dr. Deepthi for Women. This class was taught with deep clarity and transparency about sexual ethics, sexual sins, consequences, implication in spiritual life, implication in the household, punishments for sexual sins, prayers with self-reflection using Psalms 51 conducted as a practical session followed by discussions on the topic for all the questions raised by the participants with respect to day to day life about how to raise spiritual generation with holiness for the Lord.

CHILDREN EVANGELICAL FELLOWSHIP(CEF)

A team of 4 members were arranged for the children who came with their family. The children were engaged with activities when their parents were able to attend the gift school Family Building Level -2. GOD’S CHILDREN our little soldiers learnt a few new songs, bible stories with puppet show. These days became their memorable moment. Sol. Packiam regularly monitoring and encouraging our YOUNG VOLUNTEERS to take care of their small brothers and sisters. Praise the Lord!In the evening session, recreation activity was conducted by Sol. Reagan family, Sol. Kavitha Raj and Sol.Packiam. Followed by Kebab cooked by Sol. Andrew. The soldiers of AOJ with their families gathered in a circle with a burning fire in the middle for the recreation activity “BURNING BUSH”. The session was started with worship by Sol. Theodore and with a title “burning bush” with the questions “do you love me?” Sermon was shared by sis. Angelica. According to John 21:9 since when they landed, they saw a pile of burning coals, there with fish on it and some bread. Where Jesus asked Simon the son of John “do you love me?” And Simon replied “yes Lord, you know that I love you”. Jesus answered, “take care of my sheep”,remembering Jesus with his disciples in the burning bush, followed by some activities were conducted by Sol. Reagan. The first activity was based on a word game “serving God with word”, a word was given from the bible such as eyes, salt, light etc… where the participants had to identify the correct bible verse related to the word given. This helped to improve their bible knowledge in an interactive way. The second activity was “Do the Opposite Challenge.” Participants were divided into three lines. In this activity, they had to do the opposite of the instruction given. For example, if we said, “hands up,” they had to do “hands down.” This round was very lively and brought a lot of laughter and excitement among the participants. The third activity was “Guess the Character.” One participant from each group came forward, and they were given Bible character’s name such as Joseph or David. The participant had to enact the character, while the group guessed the correct answer. This activity was both entertaining and engaged everyone. The entire recreation activity was joyful, interactive and encouraging, it helped strengthen teamwork, participation and bible learning among the AOJ soldiers. The day ended with prayer and pledge.

Day 2

The day started with troop churches, where the soldiers were divided into 7 groups, each group with 10 soldiers participated with a troop leader in each group. The message given by the troop leaders were on 1 Peter 3:8-12. This was done by Sol. Vinya, Sol. Anritha and Sis Angelica. Followed by the Lords’ supper by Sol. Benjamin day 2 morning session started with opening prayer and pledge by Sol. Leslie, followed by family worship by Sol. Albert and Team. 4^th Class “POSSESS WITH YOUR VESSEL WITH SANCTIFICATION AND HONOR” taken by Sis. Angelica covering the topics, how to possess his own vessel, body is a living organism, 7 reasons to surrender our body pure to the Lord and why to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor.Class 5 taken by Sol. Dr. Sujatha on “PRESERVING THE MARRIAGE THE HOLY UNION”, the main topics were holy union, holiness in marriage union, root of sexual immorality, 4 marriage principles, defiling attacks in the marriage union, unsolved sexual intimacy, handling defiling attacks, separation, allow judgment, repentance and restoration and is covenant valid after adultery. Class 6 about LAWS AND REGULATION OF MARRIAGE was taken by Sol. Paul Hudson as the moderator through panel discussion. The panelist was Sol. Dr. Sujatha, Sister. Angelica and Mother. Leema Rose. I saw that the Lord has placed a SCROLL in everyone's hands so that they could walk in an orderly and disciplined manner. Day 3

Family trip to Rameshwaram and Dhanush Kodi. The day started with worship in the bus and a short historical message by Sis. Angelica with her work experience at Rameshwaram and few soldiers shared testimonies based on the happiest moment of their day of salvation. We came across Pamban Bridge; we went for boating at Rameshwaram. Sol. Santhan took over the travel and guidance. Sol. Santhan’s house was visited as a resting place and was concluded with prayer in the bus reaching our destination at the Madurai railway station. This trip was really a blessing to all the families who participated. We praise and thank God for such an opportunity to explore his creation at RAMESHWARAM.

Before that, the time given was very short. It was like I had to reframe everything from the previous setup and present them as verses. At that time, I was getting many thoughts coming into my mind. In the morning, at my workplace, I was the only person assigned to that post, so all the pressure from the cases fell on me. It was like that for a few days.Then suddenly, it was as if someone had intentionally scheduled things month after month; they assigned another doctor as well. So, in fact, I had so much time, and many people started helping me out. The Lord favored me in that. I could feel His favor in many areas, like getting things written down and documented. No matter what I asked for, it happened immediately. Whatever I thought of, it manifested. It wasn't just favor for me; the Lord pre-planned this. From Heaven, whatever was orchestrated, it all resulted in positive outcomes.Another thing was that I was carrying a heavy burden regarding how this was going to be taken up, how it was going to be delivered to everyone—especially to all the sisters and brothers. But the Lord made it possible and beautifully fulfilled it. For me, personally, compared to the clarity I had before, the Lord spoke to me so much personally during these two days. While receiving the word, He connected with me. He made me connect certain things from yesterday’s class to today’s class. He also corrected me in certain areas. In this way, I could see the Lord working a lot in my life.The Lord's presence and anointing were there throughout. Whether it was in the morning when the sister took the session, or now during the prayer time, it was deeply felt. The sister actually mentioned a word. Actually, I was already praying for that in a certain way; I was praying using the word of God. The vision that the sister saw was exactly related to that, and it felt so validating—like, 'Wow, how did she accurately capture what I was praying about?' Sister spoke about that vision.Another thing was regarding my prayer for people who are struggling with various issues; they need to become overcomers. When we pray for those going through trials, they will overcome. I used to wonder if all this would be possible, but through this, I can see that many have indeed become overcomers and are standing as a strong witness. -Sol.Dr.Sujatha

Spiritual Connection and Vision: my experience attending the Level 1 and Level 2 "Family Building Classes" hosted by AOJ in Madurai. Despite a lack of cellular service at the location, she felt a powerful, uninterrupted spiritual connection with God, which she describes as "the Lord's network".

Healing and Personal Revelation: As a widow who lost her husband when my son was only two and a half years old, I initially felt pain and regret that these spiritual truths were revealed to me so late in life. However, through fellowship and scripture, I found comfort and realized the training would heavily equip her for future ministry and testimony work.

Impact on Youth: I note with joy that most of the attendees were young, emphasizing that AOJ serves as a vital space to guide youth toward holiness and prevent them from making major life mistakes.

Gratitude for Leadership and Ministry: I express deep gratitude for the organizers and coworkers. I thank the "sisters" who enthusiastically taught the classes and guided them on an educational trip to Rameshwaram.

The "University" Vision: During a worship session, I received a vision of a massive, straight-growing tree, symbolizing divine preparation. This vision was confirmed moments later when a ministry leader spoke, verbatim, the exact sentiment revealed to her: that AOJ is a spiritual "university" preparing believers for the heavenly work of the New Jerusalem.

EL NIÑO IS COMING FASTER THAN EXPECTED AND CHANCES ARE RISING THAT IT WILL BE HISTORICALLY STRONG

El Niño is emerging even faster than expected in the Pacific Ocean and odds are increasing that it could become historically strong — a rare “Super” El Niño — by fall or winter.

This is according to a just-released update from NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center that says there is a 2 in 3 chance that El Niño’s peak strength will be strong or very strong.

El Niño is a natural climate cycle that happens when the tropical Pacific Ocean warms enough to trigger shifts in wind patterns throughout the atmosphere, which has a ripple effect on weather conditions worldwide.

Droughts and heat waves can flourish in some regions, fueling wildfire danger and water supply concerns, while others are swamped by flooding rainfall. El Niño’s far-reaching effects can also stymie the Atlantic hurricane season. On a larger scale, it causes already rising global temperatures from human-caused climate change to spike even higher. Stronger El Niños make all these impacts more likely.

Super El Niño odds increase

El Niño occurs about every two to seven years and lasts nine to 12 months. Its strength is measured by how far water temperatures rise above average in a patch of the equatorial Pacific Ocean, and it usually peaks in the Northern Hemisphere’s winter.

Weak El Niño conditions develop once the temperature rises over 0.5 degrees Celsius above average for an extended period of time. Water temperatures must be more than 2 degrees above average for it to be considered a very strong or Super El Niño.

The average water temperature is just below the 0.5-degree threshold right now, but it’s now expected to climb above it by next month, according to Thursday’s monthly update from the Climate Prediction Center. That’s a notable change from last month’s update, which favored neutral conditions — neither El Niño or its cooler counterpart La Niña — through June.

El Niño is then likely to strengthen through the summer and fall. The chances of it lasting through winter have also increased to 96%, a near lock that it does so.

The boost in confidence is due to the vast pool of warm water that’s built up in the depths of the central and eastern equatorial Pacific in recent weeks. This water will eventually rise to the surface, kickstart El Niño and keep strengthening it from there.

But while forecasters are more confident in it forming, “there is still substantial uncertainty in the peak strength of El Niño,” the Climate Prediction Center said.

Still, the odds of a Super El Niño between November and January have increased from a 1 in 4 chance last month to about a 1 in 3 chance in the latest strength probabilities from the CPC.

A stronger El Niño is more likely if changes in the atmosphere continue to sync with changes in the tropical Pacific Ocean this summer, like seeing winds near the equator weaken at the same time ocean temperatures rise, said Michelle L’Heureux, a scientist who leads El Niño and La Niña forecasting at the CPC.

Some typically reliable computer models show this year’s potential Super El Niño could even be the strongest on record. It would be the first Super El Niño since 2015-2016, which was the strongest in National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration records dating to 1950. Others include 1997-1998, 1982-1983 and 1972-1973.

Even if this El Niño falls short of “super” status, it’s still likely to be a strong one. Stronger El Niños usually pack a bigger punch when it comes to affecting global weather conditions, however impacts don’t always pan out as expected.

The 2015-2016 Super El Niño delivered on its reputation of causing serious drought in the Caribbean, but also failed to produce the wetter than average winter it’s known for in Southern California.

A more likely impact is global heat: El Niño is loading the dice toward 2026 or 2027 becoming Earth’s warmest on record. It’s already “very likely” this year will be one of the five-warmest on record NOAA said on Monday, and that’s not yet accounting for El Niño’s warming wild card factor.

REJECTION

Luk 9:51-56 And it happened in the fulfilling of the days of His taking up, He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem. And He sent messengers before His face. And they went and entered into a village of the Samaritans to make ready for Him. And they did not receive Him, because His face was going toward Jerusalem.

And seeing this, His disciples James and John said, “Lord, do You desire that we command fire to come down from Heaven and consume them, even as Elijah did?” But He turned and rebuked them and said, you do not know of what spirit you are. For the Son of Man has not come to destroy men's lives, but to save. And they went to another village.

1.This incident is the turning point of Luke’s Gospel verses 51 — “set his face to go to Jerusalem”. This is the major pivot in Luke. From Luke 9:51 to 19:28, Jesus is “on the road to Jerusalem.” He knows He’s going to the cross. Isaiah 50:7 “I have set my face like a flint” . It means resolute, unshakable purpose.

2.The “taking up” refers to His death, resurrection, and ascension Acts 1:2, 11, 22. So everything from here is shadowed by the cross. No detours.

3.Why the Samaritans rejected Him — verses 52-53

Samaritan-Jewish hostility is 700 years old. After Assyria conquered northern Israel 722 BC, Jews and Samaritans mixed religion and blood. John 4:9 “Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.” Samaritans had their own temple on Mount Gerizim. They hated that Jesus was going to Jerusalem to worship. “His face was set toward Jerusalem” — That is why they hated Jesus. If He were just passing through, maybe they would have hosted Him. But He was going to the rival worship site. So, they refused hospitality, which was a major insult in that culture.

4.James and John’s reaction — verse 54

“Tell fire to come down from heaven” They’re thinking of 2 Kings 1:10-12 where Elijah called down fire on the soldiers who rejected God’s prophet. James and John are called “Sons of Thunder” Mark 3:17 — a metaphor filling their logic: “You’re the Messiah. They reject you. Elijah would burn them. Let us do it. ” They want judgment now. It’s zeal, but wrong.

5.Jesus’ rebuke — verses 55-56

“He turned and rebuked them” Greek epitimaō — the same word used when Jesus rebukes demons Luke 4:35 or the storm Luke 8:24. It is a sharp word. He shuts it down. What did He Rebuke: Their spirit — Older manuscripts add “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of.” They had a spirit of judgment, not mercy. Their timing — John 3:17 “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

First coming = mercy.

Second coming = judgment 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8.

They wanted Second Coming fire at First Coming time. Their mission — Luke 19:10 “The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Not torch them. John 4, healed a Samaritan leper Luke 17:16, and later makes a Samaritan the hero of a parable Luke 10:33.

He rebukes his disciples for wanting to destroy them. Acts 1:8 — Samaria is part of the mission. Mercy now, judgment later — There is a time for fire Revelation 20:9, but this wasn’t it.2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is patient... not wishing that any should perish.” Here is an irony also. James and John wanted to call fire on Samaritans. Later in Acts 12:2, James is the first apostle martyred. John lives long and writes 1 John 4:8 “God is love.” Jesus’ rebuke worked. And Samaria becomes Christian Acts 8:5-8, 25. Jesus set His face to Jerusalem to die for His enemies, not burn them. He rebukes us when we would rather see fire than forgiveness. His mission was the cross first, then judgment. Compare this with Luke 19:41-44 where Jesus weeps over Jerusalem instead of burning it? Same heart reflected here too.

EBOLA OUTBREAK IN CENTRAL AFRICA COULD REACH 20,000 CASES WITHOUT STRONG PUBLIC HEALTH MEASURES

NEW YORK (AP) — The Ebola outbreak in Central Africa could grow to 20,000 cases or more, depending on how quickly infected people are isolated to slow the spread, according to a new analysis by U.S. health officials.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published a range of scenarios generated by computer models Friday, spanning from 10,000 cases to more than 20,000. If accurate, a worst-case scenario could approach the worst Ebola outbreak in history, the West Africa epidemic in 2014-2016 — which resulted in more than 28,000 reported cases and more than 11,000 deaths.

“Without strong public health interventions, the modeling work suggests an outbreak of that scale is possible,” said Dr. Satish Pillai, incident manager for the CDC’s Ebola response, in a briefing with reporters.

Jennifer Nuzzo, director of Brown University’s Pandemic Center, said the modeling “affirms what we have worried about since the beginning: This outbreak is following dangerous trajectory” if more is not done to stop the spread of Ebola.

But she cautioned it can be extremely difficult to predict how outbreaks will progress. “I wouldn’t read too much into the specific numbers. It’s really hard to make an accurate projection when you have limited data,” she added.

The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday that there have been about 400 confirmed cases, including 63 deaths. Experts say there likely others that haven’t been diagnosed or reported.

Viruses that cause Ebola disease spread through contact with bodily fluids such as vomit, blood and semen. There are no specific treatments or vaccines for the Bundibugyo virus at the heart of the current outbreak. The disease is often fatal.

The World Health Organization declared the outbreak a global health emergency in May. Some experts believe infections may have been occurring in February, but health officials initially tested for a different kind of Ebola virus.

The outbreak response has been complicated by an armed conflict between Congo’s government and the Rwanda-backed M23 rebel group, as well as attacks by the Islamic State-affiliated group the Allied Democratic Force. The violence has caused massive displacement of people living in the conflict areas, officials say.

Earlier this week, Nuzzo said the risk to the United States seems low. “I don’t think it’s a scenario that it’s going to come here and spread broadly,” she told reporters. The CDC echoed that assessment in an article released Friday.

That’s due in part to decisions but the U.S. government to ban the entry of people without U.S. passports, as well as U.S. green-card holders who visited Congo, Uganda or South Sudan in the previous 21 days. Also, people with U.S. passports who traveled to those countries are undergoing health screenings and being funneled into four receiving airports.

CDC’s modeling report attempts to project how things might play out, depending on different factors — including how many infections and deaths have already happened, and how successful responders are in quickly identifying and isolating infected people before they can spread the infection to others.

Assuming around 50 people had died and about 20% of infected persons were successfully isolated by late May, most simulations suggest at least 20,000 cases and 4,000 deaths will occur in Africa over three months.

Pillai said the actual isolation rate is unknown but is considered to be “on the lower end of the scenarios” that CDC modeled.

Higher isolation rates, of 50% or 70%, could result in the number of cases being more like 10,000, CDC officials said. But if the actual number of deaths were greater in late May that currently recognized, that could make the outcomes worse, CDC officials said.

Some CDC modeling during the large Ebola outbreak in West Africa proved to be way off. The CDC issued modeled numbers in 2014, when the epidemic was spiraling out of control and international health officials were quickly trying to build a response.

The CDC estimated that in a worse-case scenario where nothing was done, as many as 1.4 million people might become infected. That turned out to be more than 50 times higher than what happened.

“LORD, I BELIEVE; HELP MY UNBELIEF!”

Mark 9:23-24 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

1.WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THIS INCIDENT?

Context: Jesus just came down from the Mount of Transfiguration Mark 9:2-8. At the bottom, the other disciples are failing to cast a demon out of a boy Mark 9:14-18. The father brings his son to Jesus. The boy had a mute/deaf spirit since childhood Mark 9:17,21. It throws him into fire and water to destroy him. The disciples couldn’t help Mark 9:18.

Mark 9:22 — The desperate father says: “But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

That “if You can” is the key. Jesus picks up on it.

2.VERSE BY VERSE MEDITATION

Mark 9:23 — “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Jesus flips the father’s words. The father said “if You can” questioning Jesus’ power. Jesus says the issue isn’t “if I can” — it’s “if you can believe.”

Greek nuance: Some manuscripts read “If You can believe?” Jesus is repeating the dad’s doubt back to him, almost like: “‘If You can’?

Everything is possible for the one who believes.”

All things are possible — Not a blank cheque for anything we want.

1 John 5:14 clarifies: “if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

”It means no situation is too hard for God when faith is present. Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing will be impossible.”

Jesus is saying: “The power isn’t the problem. The channel of faith is.” Hebrews 11:6 — “Without faith it is impossible to please Him.”

Mark 9:24 — “Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, ‘Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!’”

This is one of the most honest prayers in the Bible.

→Immediately — No delay. He doesn’t pretend. He’s desperate and real.

→With tears — This isn’t theology. This is a dad watching his son suffer for years. Psalm 56:8 “You put my tears into Your bottle.”

→“Lord, I believe” — He does have faith. He brought the boy to Jesus. He hasn’t walked away. That’s belief. Rom 10:10 “with the heart one believes.”

→“Help my unbelief!” — But his faith is mixed with doubt. And he admits it. He doesn’t fake strong faith. He asks Jesus to help the weak part.

Jesus’ response: He doesn’t rebuke the weak faith. Mark 9:25-27 — He immediately rebukes the demon, heals the boy, and lifts him up.

Point: Jesus responds to honest, dependent faith — even if it’s small Matt 17:20 “faith as a mustard seed.” He doesn’t need perfect faith. He is perfect, and He helps our unbelief.

3.WHAT DOES THIS TEACH US TODAY?

Truth. Mark 9:23-24

For us

a.Doubt doesn’t disqualify you.

The father doubted but still came to Jesus

Matt 14:31 Peter sank, but Jesus caught him. Bring your doubt to Jesus, do not go away from Him

b.Faith is the issue, not God’s power

“If you can believe” Jas 1:6-7 “Ask in faith, with no doubting.” The question isn’t “Can God?” It’s “Will I trust?”

c.Honest prayer is a powerful prayer “Help my unbelief!” said with tears

Ps 34:18 “The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart.” God isn’t scared of your weak faith

d.Jesus meets us in the tension

He heals despite mixed faith

Isa 42:3 “A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench.” He fans small faith into flame

e.Faith grows by looking at Jesus, not self

Father stops staring at himself and his weak faith but looks at Jesus and cries “Lord” Heb 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.”

4.WHY DID THE DISCIPLES FAIL EARLIER

Jesus tells them in Mark 9:29: “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

Some problems require deeper dependence. The disciples tried in their own strength.

Mark 9:18. The father models the right way: “Lord... help.” 2 Cor 12:9 “My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

Bottom line: Mark 9:23-24 gives permission to be a Christian with shaky faith. You don’t need 100% certainty to come to Jesus. You need

1% faith + 100% honesty

“Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” is often the most faithful prayer you can pray.

EARTHQUAKE OF MAGNITUDE 5 HITS HIMACHAL PRADESH

The depth of the earthquake, which struck about 40 km from Dharamsala near the Kangra- Chamba border at 10:04 pm, was 5 km, the meteorological office said

Tremors were felt in parts of Kangra, Chamba and adjoining districts of Himachal Pradesh after a 5.0 magnitude earthquake of moderate intensity hit the region on Friday night.

The depth of the earthquake, which struck about 40 km from Dharamsala near the Kangra- Chamba border at 10:04 pm, was 5 km, the meteorological office said, adding that the epicentre was located near Dhar Godoi in Kangra.

People in Dharamsala and nearby areas ran out of their houses in panic after the tremors were felt, though no loss of life or property has been reported from any part of the state so far, officials said.

The Kangra and Chamba districts fall under Seismic Zone 5, a high-damage risk zone.

Tremors were also felt in Chandigarh and parts of Punjab and Haryana, reports said.

A Chandigarh resident, Baldev Chand, who lives on the second floor of a three-storey building, said he felt a mild tremor at about 10 am when he was preparing to sleep.

"The tremors lasted only for a few seconds," he said.

Isa 43:26  Put me in remembrance; let us argue together; set forth your case, that you may be proved right.

LET US ARGUE TOGETHER:

The heavenly Judge is addressing His people (who reads the Bible) to come into argument with the him. It has a sounding that, He is fully confident of winning. Any argument put forth by any human being can be handled and answered by Him easily to prove His righteousness.

Conducting such sessions will make known to the earth how righteous are His judgments and how magnificent and marvellous are His ways of administration.

SET FORTH YOUR CASE:

The Judge calls forth His people to bring to Him any case which needs settlement, especially which they are caught up in. Presenting a case in a court needs lots of ground work like collecting evidences, collecting the facts from reliable sources etc. Cases without proper evidences will not be accepted in the Courts. Such cases will be quashed.

THAT YOU MAY BE PROVED RIGHT:

Though He is asking to bring any case to the Heavenly Court, this clause indicates that there are certain conditions. It should be brought and presented in such a way that you are right and the Judge could pass a judgment in your favour. Hence it is required that the case should be presented by experienced lawyers, When the opponent lawyer (accuser- satan) counter act and puts forth all the shameful, secret, vulgar sins of the appellant in the past, they should not withdraw, and be silent. The accuser is so clever to find your weakness and silence you at your weakest moment. He will bring all such proofs from your past life in order to give you mental traumas, shocks and silence you or make you run away from the court or withdraw your case.

Admit all the sins you have committed, never get ashamed of all the accusations the enemy is bringing, be ready to put forth your argument that you have repented and washed by the blood of Jesus Christ, and you stand there in the Heavenly Court as a righteous person because of your faith in Jesus Christ.

Let us go deep into this verse.

In Isa 43:26, the Heavenly Judge is giving a summon to appear in His Court for arguing your case. Anyone who has registered himself in the Heavenly Court (Any believer) can enter into the Court with His case. They can argue there. The Lord is asking us to remind him of all that you have done in your life to observe the commandments of the Bible and to express your faith in Jesus Christ.

There are angels who make a record of all your

Words (Mat 12:36) and

Activities (Mat 18:10, Acts 10:2)

It is required to present before the court with evidences, orally and in documents. There are people in the society who have no voice to speak out or no access to the earthly court. They might be citizens of the nation but due to some reason, they would be suppressed or oppressed in the society. Such people (individuals, tribes, groups) may not have access to the earthly court and get justice.

But everyone who is registered as a believer of Jesus Christ, (Heb 12:22) has access to the heavenly court. Their illiteracy or social status, does not make them ineligible for getting justice from the heavenly Court. That is by another method. The heavenly court considers their actions. What all they have done in observance of the Commandments of the Bible.

Be Formed and Form batch No 867 was conducted from 5^th to 12^th May 2026 in Jacob Gardens, Chennai. This batch was conducted specially for the children. The Lord was doing the same miracles again. There was a news in the paper that "Akkini Natchthiram" "Kathiri veyil" starts in Chennai on 5th. BFF dates were from 5-12th. We prophesied the BFF campus should receive good rains so that the children will not suffer. On the 4th day, it started raining heavily in Padappai around 12.20 pm. Teachers said that in the city there was no rain at all. How come we got rain in Padappai. That is our God our Lord. We praise him for his marvelous works during the training.

SHADOW PARLI

SHADOW PARLI was conducted on 29^th April 2026 from 5:30 to 7:00 am by the Delhi team. Sol.Amarjeet led the meeting. Sol.Laxman started the meeting with an opening prayer and the pledge was said by Sol.Sarita. Sol. Priya led everybody into worship. The Lord's message was given by Sol.Poonam. Previous shadow parli report was read by Sol.Ashwin. Attendance was taken and the new SMPS and SMLAS were introduced and they took the oath. A small discussion was done related to the issues in the union territory of Delhi, it was led by Sol.Renu. The issues were taken to the heavenly court by Sol.Sweety. A few people shared their testimonies to encourage others growmin the spirit. The meeting concluded with a closing prayer said by Sol.Jai Prakash and pledge by Sol.Mary.

Inheriting the churches in UAE

The UAE Team after listening to the message shared by Sr. Angelica on Inheritance of Churches, worshipped for 1 hour daily for 6 days before the inheritance of Institutional Churches. The Lord gave revelations from Joel 2:23, 2 Chronicles 15:15 etc. Vision of breaking of chains was also received. Due to current situations, it was decided to inherit the churches collectively online via zoom.

On 26^th March, 2026 the team came together and inherited all 177 churches from the 7 Emirates of UAE. 9 members were involved in this. They are Sol. Prakash and Sol Lavanya (Abu Dhabi & Sharjah),Sol. Vinya (Fujairah), Sol. Mahesh and Sol Christy (Dubai), Sol. Neha (Um Al Quain), Sol Laxmi Kamble (Ras Al Khaimah) and Sol. Joseph (Ajman)

Following the inheritance of UAE Churches, it was decided to inherit the Churches in other Gulf regions. The list of Churches was taken and following the steps of inheriting the IC, all the 119 Churches were inherited online on March 31st, 2026.

Totally 119 churches were inherited in the regions of Kuwait, Qatar, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Somalia, Yemen, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria and Libya.12 members were involved in the inheriting process.

FRP Level – I was conducted on May 1st and 2nd in Ranipet. 16 to 18 members participated. PR. Chandrasekhar Kondakuppam, Ranipet built this temple before he came to the Lord. He is conducting a Troop Church named “Joseph” in his house 200 meters away. Sol. Reegan Richard started this, Troop Church. 6 weeks over. An FRP School was arranged in his house on May 1st and 2nd. The Lord took us there. We had the privilege to be with the village people, stay with them. Reached Chennai back this evening.

ASIA IS ALREADY GRAPPLING WITH A FUEL CRISIS. A ‘SUPER EL NINO’ THREATENS TO MAKE THINGS WORSE

A supercharged climate phenomenon is threatening to make Asia’s energy crisis worse. Drought and high temperatures, sparked by a Super El Nino that could hit the region this summer, will strain power grids right as countries are still scrambling for limited oil and gas supplies, stuck after Iran’s decision to block the Strait of Hormuz to most shipping.

“This intense thermal surge acts like a turbocharger for the planet’s weather, amplifying normal seasonal shifts into severe global disasters,” Justin Sentian, a professor of climate change and atmospheric science at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), explains. Southeast Asia and India are among the economies most exposed to El Nino’s effects, due to their reliance on climate-sensitive sectors like agriculture, fishing, and hydropower. For example, the World Bank estimates that fisheries contribute 2.6% of Indonesia’s GDP and over 7 million jobs.

The 1877 Super El Nino, the strongest since records began, caused widespread droughts and monsoon failures in India and China. “Millions of people were thought to have died or been brought to the poverty line across Asia,” says Fiona Clare Williamson, an environmental historian from the Singapore Management University (SMU) who studied the impacts of El Nino drought events in 1877, 1902 and 1911. (In fact, it was these incidents that pushed researchers to identify the climate patterns eventually dubbed the “El Nino-Southern Oscillation.”)

There have been three Super El Nino events since the 1980s: in 1992, 1997, and 2015. All three caused “massive economic disruptions”, Yi says, with losses surpassing tens of billions of dollars. Recent research by a team of Dartmouth scientists suggests that the true price tag ran into the trillions, with 1997’s Super El Nino causing $5.7 trillion in economic damage. The team predicts that total economic losses from El Nino this century could reach $84 trillion.

El Nino meets Iran

To make matters worse, 2026’s Super El Nino hits right as Asia grapples with a fuel crisis sparked by the outbreak of the Iran war earlier this year. Countries across the region rely on the Middle East for oil and natural gas, which are trapped in the region due to Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Eighty percent of oil that transits the waterway is bound for Asia.

Several Asian countries are already dialling back their energy use. Pakistan and the Philippines have rolled out four-day work weeks, while Myanmar’s government is imposing driving limits. A long-drawn disruption to supplies of Middle Eastern oil could also stifle growth in Asia’s economies; In May, the Asian Development Bank slashed its growth forecast for developing Asia and the Pacific to 4.7% for 2026 and 4.8% for 2027, down from 5.1% for both years.

Yet a prolonged drought in Asia could hurt hydropower resources, which countries rely on as an alternative to oil and natural gas. Hydropower accounts for 14.5% of total electricity generation in South and Southeast Asia, according to the International Energy Agency.

Power use also increases during a heatwave. “Extreme ambient heat could cause immense strain on municipal power grids forced to bear the weight of surging air conditioning demand,” says Steve Yim, the director of the Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Health at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

A Super El Nino could also trigger a public health crisis across the region. “Under warm weather conditions, outdoor workers in construction, logistics and delivery sectors may face a relatively high risk of severe heat exhaustion,” he adds.

Sentian also points out that intense heat and intermittent water supplies could increase the risk of mosquito-borne diseases like malaria and dengue. “Desperate residents could inadvertently create breeding grounds by stockpiling water in buckets,” he says.

Forest fires in Sumatra and Kalimantan can also blanket neighboring Malaysia and Singapore in haze. Poor air quality will exacerbate chronic respiratory conditions like asthma, while forcing schools and businesses to close.

Sentian warns that the frequency of Super El Nino could double over the coming century, thanks to climate change. “The greenhouse-warmed ocean surface heats up faster than its deeper layers, making it significantly easier to trigger a massive thermal discharge into the atmosphere,” he explains.

PUT ME IN REMEMBRANCE

Act 10:3-4  About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God come in and say to him, “Cornelius.”   And he stared at him in terror and said, “What is it, Lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have ascended as a memorial before God.

Isa 43:26  Put me in remembrance; let us argue together; set forth your case, that you may be proved right.

Bible says that the Lord’s eyes are roaming around the earth watching everything and controlling everything as per His righteousness and justice.

2Ch 16:9  For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. ….”

In another version

(2Ch 16:9) The LORD's eyes keep on roaming throughout the earth, looking for those whose hearts completely belong to him, so that he may strongly support them.)

It shows that God is not distant or passive. His “roaming” eyes are actively searching for people who trust Him so that He can support them. It is both comforting and sobering. Nothing is hidden. He is ready to act for the loyal hearts.

All the infrastructure created on the earth, (the Human Governmental systems, Electoral systems both International and National, Judicial systems, Law enforcement systems, Monetary systems, Trading systems, distribution systems, etc are established on earth in order to execute the judgments of the Courts of Heaven. The judgment that comes from the Heavenly Court is implemented and enforced by every system which exists in this world. Hence The Heavenly Court is the final appellate for any case for humanity. Those who are not aware of this apex court, stops appealing with all the earthly judicial systems and get frustrated when unjust decisions come from them.

In Bible we see many incidents about the functioning of the heavenly Court and its Supreme Judge, the Lord God of Heaven instructing human beings to bring their appeals and cases to the court along with their evidences. In certain places He explains why their cases failed because of improper presentation by the advocates.

Let us take one example today and meditate.

Inheriting the churches in TAMIL NADU

Approximately 3000 churches were inherited. Nearly 75 to 100 people were involved in this. Group Elyon, Group Tiruvallur Constituency, Group Central Chennai Constituency has inherited large number of churches. According to the original plan, it proved difficult to physically visit every church across the state of Tamil Nadu. Following a vision received by a soldier, we instead inherited multiple churches by visiting either the largest church in a region or the one where we were led by God. There were a few soldiers who were not just satisfied with inheriting their constituencies rather stepped out of their comfort zones, the soldiers travelled to different constituencies to inherit churches, especially in places where there were not enough workers. Some travelled hundreds of kilometres on weekends to cover larger parts of the state. Sol. Felix, Sol. Caroline, Sol. Kipson, Sol. Dr. Albert, Sol. Robin, Sol. Victy Mithula, Sol. Jude, Sol. Sherine, Sol. Rajesh, Sol. Andrew, Sol. Wilson, Sol. Anton, Sol. Peter, Sol. Mohanasundaram, Sol. Benjamin, Sol. Raja and many more who travelled outside of their constituencies for inheritance. 1st Trumpet Warning Meeting was held at March in Ranipet, Arakkonam constituency. Following which there was a second meeting arranged with pastors at the same location. 2nd Cuddalore constituency conducted trumpet warning among 30 pastors. Many pastors repented for not doing what God asked them to do 20 years back. 3rd Coimbatore constituency conducted trumpet warning meeting with pastors, it was an eye-opening message for all the pastors which insisted about what they should do going forward.

Inheriting the churches in CHATTISGARH

Nearly 6 churches were inherited. 4 members were involved in it. Sol. Baijnath, Sol. Birasmani and Sol. Usha were involving them in inheriting the churches.

MARRIAGE BUILDERS

When a man and woman first marry, they usually start out quite happy. But according to statistics, they hit their lowest level of marital satisfaction by age thirty-five. And it tends to remain low until about age fifty, when it starts to rise again.

If careers and parenting responsibilities crowd their evening hours, they need to make time for each other in the mornings. Schedule a breakfast appointment at a restaurant, for example, where you can get caught up with each other's lives.

If your marriage has become stale, there's no better time than now to start doing romantic things-and establishing stronger emotional connectedness that will make your relationship more satisfying. It's important that you do this, because over a period of years you're going to go through several crises together. Relationship with our children/ parents / work pressure etc.

It's important that you have your marriage relationship working well so you can make it through these tough times.

EARTHQUAKE IN OUTBACK SA HAS 'PERMANENTLY CHANGED LANDSCAPE'

Cracks in the ground in outback Australia caused by a recent magnitude-5.5 earthquake could help researchers predict future seismic activity.

Amata, a remote community in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands near the border of South Australia and the Northern Territory, felt the earthquake at the start of April.

Shortly after, University of Melbourne researchers attended the scene and were met by a several-kilometre-long rupture in the ground.

"The rocks on the western side have been lifted up about half a metre or so relative to the rocks on the eastern side," University of Melbourne professor Mark Quigley told ABC North & West Breakfast's Tom Mann.

Professor Quigley said the obvious rupture was "maybe 3 or 4 kilometres long", with more subtle cracking also visible.

"It's extended right through areas of bedrock into areas of younger sediment on either side of the bedrock knob," he said.

"It allows us to do detailed geological analyses of the ground surface rupture … to understand how the geology influences the patterns of earthquake damage."

Geoscience Australia senior seismologist Jonathan Bathgate said that on April 5, the agency had received about 30 reports from people who felt the quake that morning.

He said the magnitude was equivalent to the devastating 1989 Newcastle earthquake that killed and injured dozens, and created a $4 billion damage bill.

"It's the same size earthquake, it just happens to be in quite a remote part of the country rather than near a populated centre," he said.

Surface-rupturing earthquakes are relatively rare, with 11 known to have occurred in Australia in the 50 years to 2018, according to Professor Quigley's research.
