MESSAGE FOR REFLECTION
RESURRECTED JESUS APPEARS TO MARY MAGDALENE
Joh 20:13 They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.”
Mary would not have slept the previous 2 days after the death and burial of Jesus. The horrible scenes of the crucifixion of Jesus, the agony Jesus underwent while hanging on the cross, the pain shared with the mother of Jesus and the Apostle John, the screaming and hard hearted attitude of the Chief priests, the anxiety on the faces of the Roman soldiers to see Jesus taking his last breath, the brutal and barbarian atmosphere of hatred prevailing there, spectators who stood far away watching everything out of curiosity, the stench of blood, decayed flesh and dried bones, all came to her mind. Even though she expected that Jesus will be a victim of His enemies’ revengeful wrath, she did not expect this terrible end for Jesus’s life on earth.
She could not think of a life in this world without Jesus. It was Jesus who cast out seven demons from her and gave her a new life. She lived a life of hell, living with demons. After she met Jesus, she became a new creation. Her heart was full of love for Jesus. She was an ardent follower of Jesus. She stood under the cross along with Jesus’ Mother till the burial was over. They knew that they could not conduct the usual funeral service for Jesus because the Sabbath was about to start. It had to be done in a hurry. She knew her Jesus is no more in this world. She has witnessed Jesus raising her brother Lazarus to life. But is there someone capable of raising Jesus to life again? Her heart yearned. She was waiting for Sabbath to get over and the new day to dawn.
Early morning she came to the tomb to see the body of Jesus and to do the formalities for Jesus. She would have undergone thorough screening by the security. When she went inside and looked for the body, it was missing.
She thought somebody would have stolen even the dead body of Jesus out of hatred towards Him. She ran to inform this to the disciples. Peter and John rushed to the tomb. They made a thorough examination of the tomb. It is written in the Bible in the following words,
Joh 20:5-8 And stooping to look in, he (John)saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in.
Joh 20:6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus' head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; (believed that Jesus body was not in the tomb).
So, the disciples went back home not knowing what to do next.
Joh 20:11-13 But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept, she stooped to look into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.”
The Risen Jesus knew her heart and sent two angels from heaven to convey the news of His resurrection to her.
She was not satisfied by seeing the angels, but was turning around and still searching.
Joh 20:14 Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus.
Joh 20:15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”
She was searching for Jesus. The Apostles, Peter and John, not seeing the body of Jesus, went back to their home. But the love Mary had for Jesus did not permit her to go back. Imagine how many times she walked to and fro.
Early in the morning towards the tomb. Not seeing the body of Jesus, she ran to the Apostles to report. Again, came to the tomb along with them. Her lingering there around the tomb expressed her love and closeness with Jesus.
Seeing the desire of her heart, Jesus appeared to her first. Mary Magdalene became the first Evangelist in the world.

TROOP CHURCH TESTIMONIES
⇒During the 8th week of Maccabees troop church, after the anointing session, food was provided to the home for the aged. Nearly 30 members had their dinner. Praise God for the things he has done through this troop church.
⇒In Jeeva Neerodai troop church, a sister named “Esther” could not read are write. At the end of the 5th week, she started reading bit by bit. She said the opening prayer, binding and unbinding prayer. Her husband was shocked hearing all these things. Glory to God!
⇒A troop church was conducted in Rukmani sister’s house, where God revealed that there was a material present in her house which caused her so many problems. Later, it was found that there were 9 small idols in her house. They were destroyed by the grace of God.
A Child with Down’s syndrome who didn’t walk since birth started walking from II week of the Troop church which was conducted in Trichy.All Glory to Jesus!

But the second time I participated with confidence and was selected. I have seen great progress. After studying CBS, I learned how to be involved in public life and participate in sports (Shot put). I grew in confidence. Even though I didn't win a prize, I saw a lot of progress. Thank God.

DOZENS DEAD AFTER RECORD SNOW IN JAPAN – AND OFFICIALS WARN WARMER WEATHER WILL BE TREACHEROUS
Dozens of people have died in Japan after record-breaking snowfall blanketed northern regions of the country, while officials warned that warmer temperatures could trigger a new wave of accidents.
Authorities said 35 people had died in snow-related incidents across Japan since 20 January, with almost 400 injured, 126 of them seriously. Most of the deaths were among people who fell while trying to clear snow from their roofs or around their homes.
Perilous conditions created by heavy snowfall have also affected foreign travellers. On Wednesday, a 27-year-old man from Melbourne, identified by the ABC as Michael Hurst, died after collapsing and falling while skiing with several other people at the ski resort where he worked in Niseko on the northernmost main island of Hokkaido.
His death came days after a 22-year-old woman from Queensland – identified by Australian media as Brooke Day – died at a resort in Nagano prefecture after her backpack got caught in a ski lift and she was left hanging mid-air.
Most of the incidents reported over the past two weeks have occurred in areas near the Sea of Japan, which are experiencing unusually heavy snowfall due to a cold air mass arriving from the Arctic.
This winter has brought chaos to 15 of the country’s 47 prefectures (counties), with snow reaching 6.5 feet (2m) in depth in some places.
It left more than 1,700 homes without electricity in Aomori prefecture and caused the cancellation of regular and bullet train services.
The local governor, Soichiro Miyashita, said this week that emergency vehicles were struggling to get through to people in difficulty, forcing emergency workers carrying stretchers to search for them on foot.
“We anticipate some roads might get blocked off, and so we are consulting with services that can help with ambulances and fire trucks to get through to their destinations,” Miyashita told reporters.
Twelve snow-related deaths were reported in Niigata prefecture, including a man who was found collapsed on the roof of his home, and a 70-year-old who is believed to have died after falling from his roof.
While more snow is forecast in some areas this weekend, officials urged people to remain vigilant as it starts to melt.
Japan’s chief government spokesperson, Minoru Kihara, said melting snow would raise the risk of avalanches and make surfaces slippery.
“Please pay close attention to your safety, wearing a helmet or using a lifeline rope, especially when working on clearing snow,” Kihara told reporters.
Snow-related deaths and accidents are not uncommon in Japan. Last year 68 people died over six winter months, according to officials.
