The Prophet will have  delivered  his soul

There is massive ignorance among the believers about judgment, rewards in heaven etc.

Each Ministry of the Church on Earth  has its own responsibilities, strategies and rewards.

All are given for the same purpose that is, equipping the saints for the works of ministry

Eph 4:11,12,14 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 

to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 

………………..  so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 

 

Let us take the Ministry of Prophets.

How can a prophet deliver his soul from condemnation?

If one does  not realize the gravity of this, he might take the responsibility lightly and become liable to punishment.

The calling of the Prophet is a high profile ministry which is extended to all the believers. (Acts 2:17,18). But unless  they  establish a close walk with the Lord and the Holy Spirit, they will become dropouts in the School of Prophecy . Here, by the School of prophecy we mean, learning from the Father.  ( John 6:45).

The following is a common verse meant for all the believers.

Jn 3:36  Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. 

We should not live under the misconception  that the judgment for a last minute  believer (like the right side thief on the cross ) and a Prophet who has been allowed to walk in the heavenly realm for years  and who has been a steward entrusted with the heavenly secrets (1 Cor 4:1,2) is the same. No. It cannot be.

In courts we know there are various types of punishments given to various types of crimes.  That is why the trials take place, heated arguments take place between the lawyers to prove their clients to be innocent and get them acquitted.

                                                                Judgment for a Prophet

If we have to understand  the judgment of a prophet on the last day before the White Throne (Rev 20:11-15) we should be aware of the calling of a prophet.

The crime committed by  a higher officer in the Police Department or in the Civil Service  will not be considered  and judged equal  with that of an ordinary citizen. The trials in the court throws light on the gravity of the crime and the punishment to be given accordingly.

Let us see  the calling of a prophet and on what basis a prophet will be judged. .

Eze 3:17  “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. 

Eze 3:18  If I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. 

The calling of a prophet is not simply releasing heavenly blessings, but cry aloud and proclaim the message of the Lord in whatever form he receives it.

It can be

Blessing to others, Blessings for a Nation, Plans of God to visit a Nation, Plans  or lawsuit to destroy a Nation, Warning to an individual, Warning to a Church, an institution, a tribe, or a people group,

an instruction of a teaching to be introduced into the Church, a particular Training or a syllabus, etc.

How can a prophet deliver his soul and save himself?

Eze 3:19  But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul. 

In the above verses we see the  words uttered,

“You will have delivered your soul”

Deliver one’s soul from what?

Here the incident  mentioned is “Death of a person in sin”.

Hence if the prophet does not do the work given by the Lord i.e to warn thewicked, the crime of  allowing him to die, or in other words, the crime of killing a man, ( allowing a man to die - murder) will be on him. And the criminal will be the prophet.

Eze 3:18 …….., that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.

Thus we come to know that a prophet can stand in the court of heaven convicted  or acquitted for the death of  Individuals, Churches, Institutions or Nations depending on how the prophet carries out the Lord’s command.

The person who died  may stand acquitted.  But the punishment will come upon  the Prophet whom the Lord appointed to warn the person .
